Concerts, Dance & Performances

You might not expect a library to have excellent acoustics, but the Jesup makes for a great concert venue! Concerts are usually held on Sunday afternoons, Friday nights or Saturday nights, plus monthly contra dances on the 4th Saturday of the month. We also host spoken word nights, modern dance, Shakespeare performances, musical theater, and more - we’re up for anything!

Lectures, Author Talks & Special Events

You name it, we’ve probably had a program on it. Treks and travel of all kinds, health, education, politics, wine, steam trains, photography, gardening, banned books, kayaking and calligraphy, even astronauts. We’ve held Oscar Nights, film screenings, costume parties, and other special events.
