Books for Babies

Book bags for newborns are given to MDI Hospital for parents when children are born. Each bag includes information about reading to your baby, a bookmark, a board book and information about the library.

Play & Learn at the Jesup

Through books and other materials, and with creative and stimulating programming, an excellent children’s library builds readers and life-long learners.

Babies are engaged with words and pictures and quality playthings.  Children start with early readers and move on to chapter books, exploring real and imaginary worlds.  Teens can find a place to be in the community where they can try on new ideas and approaches to life.

Beyond our broad collection of books for youth from newborns to young adults, we also provide:

a 10,000-piece Lego set

puzzles

games

a dollhouse

stuffed animals

unit studies: themed bags with a book, a video and a toy

creative programming, from concerts to author talks to book-making to fly-tying workshops
