On Thursday, February 4 at 7 PM, four library directors from public libraries around Hancock County will present a panel discussion, "Questions & Answers about Intellectual Freedom in Public Libraries." Join Rich Boulet of the Blue Hill Public Library; Ruth Eveland of Jesup Memorial Library; Amy Wisehart of the Ellsworth Public Library; and Anne Romans of the Witherle Memorial Library in Castine for an interactive online discussion about the public library tradition of defending access to all sorts of ideas, including unpopular ones. The history, ethics, issues and dilemmas of intellectual freedom in libraries will be discussed and questions will be encouraged.
This event is co-sponsored by the participating libraries. It is free of charge and anyone is welcome. To receive the link to join by Zoom, register by calling the Blue Hill Library at 374-5515 or using the online calendar at: https://bhpl.libcal.com/event/7370946
