On Tuesday the 9th of February, we had our first working group meeting where we developed ideas on how we can facilitate connections at the Jesup Memorial Library - sharing physical and knowledge resources. We brainstormed how to increase the library’s lending collection and ideas ranged from garden spaces, cooking utensils, and bike tools, to storm windows, musical instruments and hobby kits. From focusing on tools, we explored ways we want to learn from and with each other. A central theme was having the library serve as a clearinghouse and connecting people who have a certain skill or knowledge with those who want to learn the same. During the session, we built a tool for ongoing idea development. We hope that you’ll take a moment to add your thoughts to our Connections Padlet. Questions to think about before we meet again:
How can we make tools and learning experiences accessible to the users, and ensure that all people are able to participate?
How do we narrow down all the good ideas and/or prioritize them?
