Carolyn Rapkievian, Executive Director of the Historical Society, will explore the museum's transformation from the basement of the Jesup to a waterside mansion, featuring new research and treasures from the collections. Rapkievian has held leadership positions in history, science, nature, art, cultural, and children’s museums for over 40 years including most recently, 26 years at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian. She has lectured internationally about the role of museums in understanding history.
