Summer Reading BINGO!

Starting Saturday, June 15, you can sign up for Summer Reading BINGO and play all summer long to earn great prizes! Please note:  All Summer Reading prizes must be picked up at Jesup Memorial Library.  This program is for readers ages 0-18.  If you have any questions, please email Abby (amorrow@jesuplibrary.org)

How does BINGO work?

Each week, we’ll release a new BINGO sheet. Kids can choose between the “Reading Together” card and the “Independent Reading” card. Complete one row on the BINGO card to earn one ticket. Complete the entire card and earn 5 tickets plus a special raffle ticket for a weekly prize!

All programs will take place at the Jesup Memorial Library except for the Story and Craft and the Dawnland Festival, which will take place at the College of the Atlantic. Summer Reading Kickoff Saturday, June 15 at 10:30 a.m. Join us for our Summer Reading Kickoff! Decorate your own book bag, make a reading buddy (while supplies last) and sign up for Summer Reading BINGO! Kids of all ages are welcome :)

Make Bee Homes with the Bar Harbor Garden Club Saturday, June 22 at 10:30 a.m. Learn about pollinators and make a bee home with Linda from the Bar Harbor Garden Club! For kids ages 3-10.

Nature Photography Workshop with Katherine Emery Saturday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. Kids ages 8 and up are welcome to join local photographer Katherine Emery for a nature walk and photo workshop. Registration is required. Please click here to sign up!

Mr. Drew and his Animals, Too! Friday, July 5 at 2:00 p.m. Join Mr. Drew for a presentation featuring exotic reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates from around the world! For kids ages 2 and up.

Story and Craft at the Dawnland Festival Saturday, July 13 at 10:30 a.m. at College of the Atlantic Listen to the story Kunu’s Basket and weave a bookmark inspired by a Penobscot artist, Paula Love Thorne. In partnership with the Abbe Museum. For kids ages 3-10.

Singing with Sarah Saturday, July 20 at 10:30 a.m. Meet opera singer Sarah Joyce Cooper and listen to her sing with pianist Christina Spurling. Presented in partnership with the Bar Harbor Music Festival. Kids of all ages are welcome :)

Adventures with Flor Saturday, July 27 at 10:30 a.m. Join 2023 Latin GRAMMY® nominee Flor Bromley in this Summer Concert. This show takes the audience on a musical journey through a day in the life of a child capturing the excitement and joy of everyday moments, making the ordinary become extraordinary.  Kids of all ages are welcome :)

Discover Plants with Maine Outdoor School Saturday, August 3 at 10:30 a.m. Through a blend of interactive learning experiences, guided observations, and hands-on activities, participants will embark on a journey to deepen their understanding and appreciation of the plant kingdom. For kids ages 8 and up.

Park Ranger Story Time with Acadia National Park Saturday, August 10 at 10:30 a.m. Join us for a story time led by an Acadia National Park Ranger! Listen to A is for Acadia and learn more about how you can “leave no trace” at the park. This program is for kids ages 3-10.

Zine Workshop with Island Readers and Writers Saturday, August 17 at 10:30 a.m. Make your own zine with Kelsey from Island Readers & Writers! Kids of all ages are welcome :)
