Paul Hammond Memorial Lecture: “The Thought of Paul Hammond” with Dr. Mary Beth Mader, PhD

Join us for an evening with Dr. Mary Beth Mader, PhD, for the 2023 Paul Hammond Memorial Lecture at the Jesup Memorial Library on Friday, October 27 at 7 p.m. The Paul Hammond Memorial Lecture, in honor of the late Paul Hammond, brings a speaker for a talk at the Jesup that explores philosophy for a lay audience. Hammond, the son of Debby and Scott Hammond, grew up on MDI and was a professor of philosophy who passed away in 2015. He was passionate about discussing ideas and current events, as well as promoting well-reasoned and logical arguments and debate.

Dr. Mary Beth Mader, PhD, is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Memphis and had the honor of directing Paul Hammond’s 2014 doctoral dissertation. She is a specialist in contemporary European philosophy.
