Words Unleashed! Story Slam at COA on Sat., Aug. 12

“I knew I should have said no.” If you have ever found yourself muttering that, join College of the Atlantic and the Jesup Memorial Library on Saturday, August 12 at 7 p.m. for an island-wide story slam at Thorndike Library. The theme of the slam is “I knew I should have said no.” Jeff Miller, the emcee for the Jesup’s Words Unleashed! Story Slam will be hosting the night.

If you’ve been talked into something you have instantly regretted (or maybe even months or years later), come share your true, first person story. Those familiar with “The Moth” broadcast on NPR will recognize the format. These are true stories told live.  Stories must be your own and told in the first person. Stories should be no more than five minutes long. Come to share, to listen or to cheer on the story tellers.

For more information, contact the Jesup at 207-288-4245 or kchagnon@jesuplibrary.org.
