The Can-Do Spirit behind the Auto Boom on Tues., Feb. 18 at the YWCA

Learn more about the early days of the automobile boom and how the can-do spirit, grit, innovation and determination of a few key players impacted the industry for years to come with Jenna Beaulieu, the Curator of Education at the Seal Cove Auto Museum. This event is part of Age By Design and is on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the YWCA Mount Desert Island.

Henry Ford once said, “Whether you believe you can do a thing or not, you are right.” Beaulieu will speak how four key players—Ford, the Stanley brothers, and Finley Ray—and their belief in their abilities made the automobile world what it is today.

Age By Design events are programs and community discussions that explore various facets of life for those over 50 and create opportunities for community get-togethers. Age By Design programs are co-sponsored by the Jesup Memorial Library, Island Connections, and YWCA. This event is also sponsored by the Seal Cove Auto Museum.

The talk is during the bi-weekly MDI Coffeehouse at the YWCA. The Coffeehouses are on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Stop by to enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, snacks and socializing before the program.
