Murder by the Book

Come to the scene of the crime – the Jesup Memorial Library – October 26 and 27!

Murder By The Book is for readers, writers and fans of mysteries, suspense novels and true crime books.

The Speakers Include:

Friday, Oct. 26 – 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. – An exclusive ticketed event. Meet all of our authors at a special wine reception, then get a glimpse of murders to come as authors read from unpublished works-in-progress. Tickets cost $25 each and can be purchased at the library’s front desk, or online here. Attendees who purchase their tickets beforehand will get a set of clues to solve a mystery. Anyone who correctly solves the mystery will be entered in a giveaway to win a bundle of books as well as other prizes.

Saturday, Oct. 27 – 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  A full day of FREE book talks, workshops, panel discussions, Q&A’s and book signings. Seating is on a first come first served basis. There will be keynote talk with David Rosenfelt at noon. Rosenfelt is the author of more than 27 books, including the Andy Carpenter series about a lawyer and his golden retriever Tara. His newest book in the series “Deck the Hounds” comes out the week before Murder the Book. There will be panels with experts including lawyers, a police officer, a book store owner and executive director of the New England Independent Bookseller’s Association. Prizes will be given away throughout the day.  Stop by to see your favorite author and hear them talk, or come to all the events and maybe find a new author to read.
