Robopots with the Maine State Library
November 10 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Kids in fifth through eighth grades are invited to learn simple technology skills while having fun making their own Robopot at the Jesup Memorial Library on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 1:30 p.m. Robopots are simple flower pots that are wired to automatically water a plant every 24 hours. Attendees do not have to have any computer or programming skills to get the most out of this fun and free event.
Join the Gizmo Garden and Christina Dorman, the Maine State Library’s STEM Liaison to craft a pot, add a houseplant, and then learn how to program and set up a watering system.
The making of a Robopot teaches kids math, chemistry, physical science, computer science skills and uses art skills as well. Kids also get to learn about basic electric circuitry.
Registration is required. To register contact Mae Corrion at the Jesup at 207-288-4245 or in person. For more information about this program visit gizmogarden.com.
