Contemporary Native Fashion Talk on Fri., May 11

Learn more about contemporary Native fashion with Jason and Donna Brown (Penobscot) of the brand Decontie & Brown at a special talk with the Abbe Museum and the Jesup Memorial Library at the Jesup on Friday, May 11 at 7 p.m. The Browns, who are taking part in the Abbe Museum Indian Market (AMIM) happening from May 18 to 20 in Bar Harbor, will discuss their work, process, and involvement in the art market.

They will be selling pieces of their clothing from their line, Decontie & Brown, at the market as well as co-producing AMIM Fashion Show happening during the market. At the talk, they will give attendees a sneak peak of some of the designs that they will be featuring at the show. The Browns will also speak about the importance of juried art shows to the Native community.
