Join us at Jesup Story Times!

From October through early June we have story times every week.

On Wednesdays at 10 a.m. we offer books, songs and activities chosen especially for infants and their parents or caregivers.

On Thursdays at 10 a.m. we offer stories and activities for toddlers and their parents or caregivers.

Saturday Story Times – Watch our CALENDAR or ask at the front desk about these special events for young children. Sometimes we do a craft too.

Miss Amanda shares a fun tale during a regular Wednesday story time at the Jesup.
More Great Programs!

Summer Reading Program
Every summer the Jesup offers six weeks of reading and fun activities for kids organized around a theme.

Author Visits
We’re thrilled to bring authors and illustrators of children’s books to talk at the library and offer special events for kids – people like Rebekah Raye, Kim Ridley, Gary Schmidt and Nancy Prince.

LEGO Club
The library hosts Lego club on the second and fourth Friday and Saturday of the month. We set out our 10,000-piece Lego collection and kids can get creative and make their own Lego masterpieces.

Student Volunteer Program
Students in Grade 6 & Up can come assist with day-to-day operations of the library and special projects. Ask Miss Mae for more details.

Books for Babies
Book bags for newborns are given to MDI Hospital for parents when children are born. Each bag includes information about reading to your baby, a bookmark, a board book and information about the library.

What About the Grandkids?
Youth Services Librarian Mae Corrion reads to grandparents – sharing books with them they might like to share with their own grandchildren. And she’ll bring this program right to you.

Meet Miss Mae

miss-mae

Mae Corrion is the Jesup’s youth services librarian and is responsible for ordering all the books for kids, from picture books to young adult novels. Want a recommendation for a good book? Mae’s your gal – she reads every single one that comes into the children’s room. She also plans fun events at the Jesup: Sometimes it’s an author coming to the library; sometimes a nifty craft; a story time; the summer reading program; a party; or even a science project. Ask her what she’s got coming up next!

Have a question for Miss Mae? You can reach her at mcorrion@jesuplibrary.org or (207) 288-4245
