Cherie has worked for the Maine Community Foundation since 2006, the last two as the scholarship manager. In that role she oversees the administration of 450 scholarship funds, serves as the point of contact for all scholarship donors, and solicits new funds; previously she was the foundation officer for the Midcoast and Downeast region. Prior to working there, Cherie was a grant writer and Island Fellow at the Island Institute, where she helped island librarians with professional and collection development concerns. She still writes on a freelance basis for Working Waterfront newspaper and the Island Journal. She also chairs the board of Kids’ Corner. Cherie has a bachelor’s degree from Colby College and a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Pittsburgh. She lives in Town Hill with her husband and two children. She joined the Jesup board in 2012.
