Anu Partanen’s “The Nordic Theory of Everything: In Search of a Better Life” takes an in-depth look into the differences between everyday life in the United States and the Nordic region. Trevor Corson’s “The Secret Life of Lobsters: How Fishermen and Scientists Are Unraveling the Mysteries of Our Favorite Crustacean” delves into the depths of the Gulf of Maine to learn more about the secret undersea lives of lobsters. Partanen and Corson will be at the Jesup Memorial Library on Tuesday, August 30 at 7 p.m. for an author talk and book signing.
“The Secret Life of Lobsters” was named a best nature book of the year by USA Today and Discover. O, The Oprah Magazine named “The Nordic Theory of Everything” a best book of summer 2016 and The New York Post called it a must-read of summer 2016. Corson did research for his book on Isleford and has ties to Mount Desert Island. Partanen and Corson are married and live in New York City.
Books will be on sale at the Jesup that night, with a percentage of the sale price donated to the library. Sherman’s is a co-sponsor of this event.
